Like many modern data-driven companies, NortonLifeLock has multiple divisions that rely on a widely used SaaS CRM platform for sales and other mission critical services. The CRM data has to flow to and from a separate cloud-based data storage platform to generate the insights and analytics the company relies to guide its day-to-day business operations.

“In the past, multiple business units across NortonLifeLock/Symantec that use CRM for sales or service, and the Oracle Data Store for reporting were massively challenged to ensure a real-time data synchronization between these two platforms,” says Sameer Khera, Chief Information Officer for NortonLifeLock.“The complexity was compounded by the lack of a consistent high performing, highly available and secure integration/replication product that ensures zero data loss.”

More than 800 employees across four NortonLifeLock business units rely on the reports generated from these staging databases, making it crucial that the data sets are synchronized between platforms with zero data loss. 

Faced with the challenge of finding a consistent, high performing, secure data warehouse solution that ensures zero data loss, NortonLifeLock turned to Silicon Valley-based Sesame Software and its Relational Junction suite of secure replication tools as the solution. 

“This is where Sesame Software’s Relational Junction scored big on all aspects,” Khera says. “The large set of pre-built adapters ensured minimal manual intervention, freeing up capacity of IT resources to concentrate on other areas within the IT/Integration team.”                     

NortonLifeLock IT team found the real power of Relational Junction is its ease of use. While most of the work is already done by pre-built adapters, a set of simple commands within the Relational Junction SQL-based suite of tools makes the implementation extremely user-friendly.

NortonLifeLock also found Sesame Software’s sales and support teams to be both knowledgeable and eager to provide input during the implementation.

“The support team is highly available and they clearly demonstrate an ownership attitude at every stage of the interaction,” Khera says. “The sales team is equally passionate and believes in keeping long term, solid relations built on trust, transparency and, of course, periodic connects.”
