“We hosted an application on Salesforce that needed to be integrated with our local systems,” says Ramakrishna Prasad, Analyst, with the company’s Group Protection IT, who adds that Lincoln Financial Group soon concluded that Sesame Software and its Relational Junction enterprise software suite was just what was needed to solve the cloud-host application/local integration challenge.
“Integration would not be possible without Relational Junction because we couldn’t go directly to the cloud from our local systems due to security concerns and other issues,” Prasad says.
Prasad says Relational Junction has enabled IT to move data integration away from the cloud-base Salesforce CRM solution.
“It’s really nice for us to have an intermediate area—and that’s what we use Relational Junction for,” he says. “The data goes through that and then on to the cloud, so it’s really made it possible to integrate downstream to our local systems—and then integrate that with the cloud, the host application.”
Lincoln Financial Group has hundreds of employees who rely on these data integrations as part of their business operations. “Relational Junction has been very easy to work with,” Prasad says. “It’s all been very smooth.” He also praises Sesame Software for remaining engaged and committed to ensuring Lincoln Financial Group gets the most out of its data integration. “If we have an issue, Sesame Software has been very responsive” Prasad says.
After more than a year of working with Sesame Software, Relational Junction continues to be a valuable tool for Lincoln Financial Group’s IT operations, with Prasad suggesting that’s likely to continue. “It serves our purpose very well,” he says.
