Customer Case Study: BetterCloud

New York-based BetterCloud has emerged in recent years as a leader in providing companies with automation and control for their SaaS policies, enabling IT & security departments to centralize, orchestrate, and manage day-to-day security and access for applications.

When it came to finding a solution for moving its internal sales, marketing and operations data from a cloud-based CRM partner to a SQL data warehouse for robust reporting and analytics, BetterCloud turned to Silicon Valley-based Sesame Software’s Relational Junction product suite for replication and recovery tools.

“We use Relational Junction to move all the raw CRM data into our data warehouse, where we join it with other data so we can drive insights to every part of the business,” explains BetterCloud Vice President of Financial Analytics Joe Iantosca, adding that the SQL warehouse also contains marketing automation, proprietary product data, and newsletter-related data.

Iantosca notes that approximately 200 BetterCloud employees now rely on the reports and insights generated from this SQL-based data warehouse that Relational Junction helps make happen.

Relational Junction is a secure solution that can be deployed within an organization’s network, enabling them to move data to and from Salesforce or other CRM platform, while still maintaining internal controls.

Iantosca says BetterCloud’s IT department found Relational Junction easy to install and operate, adding it has performed as advertised in helping the company quickly move data to and from Salesforce.

“It’s a very technical product and Sesame Software has been great in providing support,” he adds. “The installation and integration were relatively easy and that’s because Sesame Software made it very easy.”

BetterCloud also has Relational Junction’s backup and recovery tool at the ready, though Iantosca points out, “Thankfully, we’ve not had to use it.”

Iantosca adds that Sesame Software has been there whenever there are Relational Junction issues that need to be addressed.  “They’ve really been great whenever we needed any help at all,” he says, adding BetterCloud is committed to continuing to using Relational Junction going forward.
